Annie Redgrave became Head Mistress of this school.

5th January 1883 Children examined and found children very backward.
8th January 1883 Owing to the backwardness of the children in arithmetic and dictation, I have taken the geography time of Thursday for their exercise.
23rd February 1883 Average attendance for the week – 29.
11th May 1883 3 cases of whooping cough.
8th June 1883 Only 8 children present this week = 29.
22nd June 1883 Dorothy Smurthwaite having been transferred as monitor in the mixed department, I have taken Ada Paskin in her place.
27th July 1883 Ada Paskin having left, I have taken Olive Wakeman in her place.
19th October 1883 Average Attendance 16.

1884

8th July 1884 I took reading with class 1 instead of customary annual lesson.
21st April 1884 School reopened having been closed for 1 month on account of scarletina.
6th June 1884 Attendance not so good this week owing to heavy rains – average for week 22.8.
27th June 1884 I took charge of the mixed school together with own on Wednesday.
4th July 1884 Several children absent – haymaking.
18th July 1884 Several children absent – employed in fruiting.
24th October 1884 Paper folding lesson of Friday morning.
21st May 1884 Annie Redgrave resigned today as Head Mistress.
