We had a scorching hot day for our summer Fete and Open Day. Jeff Moody, from Meridian TV, opened the event. He congratulated us on the successful campaign to save the school from closure and wished us well in the future.

On May 22nd 2006, Kent County Council Cabinet decided to uphold the advice offered by SOAB, the Schools Organisation Advisory Board, and have agreed not to continue with its closure proposal for Shipbourne School.

KCC to Consult on Possible Closure of Shipbourne School -

Shipbourne School has been advised by Kent County Council that in line with their new strategy for primary education, they are going out to consult publicly on the possibility of closing Shipbourne Primary School. The Governors believe Shipbourne School is an exemplary school that provides an unmatched environment for the personal development of its children. It fully supports the staff and children and will oppose any proposal to close the school.
